Show Lorin I. Little Honored On 80th Birthday Fete Saturday, April 29, marked the 80th milestone for Lorin A. Little, pioneer cattleman of this area as well as of Alberta, Can. He and Mrs. Little spent the day at the St. George Temple and in the evening Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pickett, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Squire and Mrs. Olive S. Hirschi joined at the Pickett home in honoring him with a surprise anniversary an-niversary party. The" evening was devoted to music, singing, readings read-ings and reminiscing over early day experiences. Lunch vwas served to 24. Born in St. George April 29, 1864, Lorin A. Little was a son of James A. and Anna M. Baldwin Bald-win Little. The family moved to Kanab, where he spent his childhood. child-hood. On Jan. 29, 1888, he married Lyda Pugh of Kanab in the St. , George Temple. For several years j they lived at Pipe Valley, where Mr. Little was foreman of the L. D. S. church cattle herds. He and Benjamin Forsythe of To-querville To-querville made the last big drive with this herd. In 1899 Mr. and Mrs. Little moved to Alberta, Can., where they lived for 20 years, before returning re-turning to Kanab. During that time Mr. Little filled a 28-month mission to England . Since that time he has been very active in church affairs. Mrs. Little died in July, 1929, and in 1933 he came to St. George to reside, having married Mrs. Emma Squire of St. George in January of that year. They have spent most of the last ten years at Temple work and have served two years as stake, missionaries. |
