Show Funeral Services Held Here Friday For Edward J. B. Christian Bishop Wilford Schmutz of the St. George East ward conducted the funeral services held in hte South ward chapel Friday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m., for Edw. J. B. Christian who died in a Los Angeles An-geles hospital Tuesday following seven months illness from a stroke. The rostrum was banked with floral tributes from friends and relatives. Speakers were Albert E. Miller Mil-ler and George E. Whitehead, who had lived as close neighbors and associate laborors with Mr. Christian. Christ-ian. Both told of his honesty in his work, of kindness to his family fam-ily and to his fellowmen, of his dependability, his fine training as a master plasterer, and of his desire de-sire to provide his children with training that would fit them for a good life. His work on many of the local buildings was recounted and his kindness as a neiughbor and working associate were rehearsed. re-hearsed. Prayers were by James McArthur Mc-Arthur and Arthur K. Ilafen, and the grave in the City cemetery was dedicated by Bishop Arthur Cottam. The body was brought from Los Angeles by Earl J. Christensen of Christensen mortuary. Attending the services from out-of-town were Mrs. Robert Murphy. Mur-phy. Mrs. Charles Rowser, Elmer and Walter Christian, all of Los Angeles, and children of the deceased. de-ceased. George Christian was unable un-able to be present due to illness. |
