Show GIMOCK Mrs. Lee V. Leavitt Reporter Thursday evening enroute to St. George, Vernon Leavitt and Bp. Henry Bowler, had an accident acci-dent due to icy roads. Mr. Leav-itt's Leav-itt's car was badly damaged and both men were cut and bruised. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hunt and Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Jones spent the week end here from St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Bowler spent Sunday here. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bowler spent Saturday in St. George. Saturday night a "Welcome Home" dance was held at the ward hall for our six servicemen who are home with their discharges, dis-charges, and for Yoeman 3C Gerald Holt and Lt. Raphael Leavitt who are home on leave. The six servicemen are: Jackson Weddall, Johnnie Bracken, Page Bowler, Andrew and Merlyn Holt and Rex Leavitt. Paul Leavitt rendered two vocal solos; F. J. Bowler paid tribute to our boys and welcomed them back home. The audience stood in silent tribute to our serviceman, Rulon Bracken, who gave his all for his country and Mrs. Lulu Bowler read a poem honoring him. Jackson Weddell responded with brief remarks, representing the servicemen. A large crowd of townspeople and people from surrounding sur-rounding towns attended. |
