Show 1 ) - c H 1 I SSGT. W ENDELL TOBLEK SSgt. Wendell I. Tobler Awarded Flying Medal .SSgt. Wendell E. Tobler was given a surprise late in March at Lowrey Field, Denver, with the award of the Distinguished Flying Medal for his overseas services. Waist gunner of a B-24, he participated parti-cipated in more than 50 flying missions over enemy Europe, while based in Italy. He returned to the United States in November, 1944 in time for Thanksgiving, and after the allowed rest period was assigned to instructor duty at Lowery Field. During last week he was transferred to Kessler Field, Miss, for his next assignment.
