Show Livestock Show At Cedar City To Be Held On September 17 and 18 Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17 and 18 have been chosen by the Southern South-ern Utah Livestock growers for their annual Livestock Show in Cedar City. Representative E. S. Gardner of Pine Valley, has been made general chairman of the big event at which southern Utah growers are expected to assemble a large number of entries for this year's show. A total of $1,500 has been set up and donated by the sponsors to be awarded as premiums, the allocations to be made among the entries in each section according to the grades and number. Sheep, cattle and swine will be exhibited with prizes ranging from $1.00 to $5.00, under a wide variety of entry possibilities for sheep; $3.00 to $8.00 for cattle and higher prizes for special feeder class of calves; and $1.00 to $5.00 prizes for the swine division exhibits. The sponsors expect that, as in the past, there will be a number of buyers at this stock show and that exhibitors will have an opportunity op-portunity to sell if they desire. Awards will be made under the regular as well as under the Danish Dan-ish system as in previous years. Washington county, men brought home some of the prize money last year and expect to do as well or better this year, it is reported. |
