Show Bond Drive Dance Sells Over $17,000 In Bonds Here Friday Eve The Woodward High School Bond Drive which ended at the dance Friday evening resulted in the selling of $17,081 worth of bonds and stamps to students and patrons pat-rons of the school. $2,256 was sold at school during the two weeks that preceded the dance and $14,825 was sold at the dance Saturday night. The student committee in charge of this program is to be congratulated for its fine efforts. The membership of this committee was: Gregg Snow, chairman; Pauline Pau-line Hafen, Flora Brooks, Wanda Hall, Darlo Esplin, Clairon Williams Wil-liams and Reba Woodbury. They all worked enthusiastically to put the drive over. The success of the drive was due, in a large part to the splendid response from the St. George merchants to the requests re-quests made by the school for prizes to be given away at the dance. "It would be difficult to find a more patriotic and public-minded public-minded group of business men than we have here in St. George," states Newell R. Frei, principal of the school. During the drive $3,706 worth of stamps and bonds was sold to members of the Woodward student stu-dent body which is an average of a little less than $7 for each student ' enrolled. |
