Show Washington County Reported Falling Behind In War Bond Drive Six Towns in (Jounty Now Over Their Bond Quota Allotments By GLENN E. SNOW County War Band Ohnirmam Unless there is considerable activity acti-vity between now and Saturday, the Sixth War Loan Drive in Washington county will not go over the top. Many have done very well and been very active. It will be necessary for us in St. George, particularly, to make a very much greater effort to reach our quota than we have done in the past. Washington county has consistantly gone over the top, but it looks as if we may fail this time. . ' ' On Sunday, within four hours time, the people of Enterprise more than met their quota. Those ! in charge of the drive at Enterprise Enter-prise are Heber Truman, A. P. Winsor, Grant Clove and John Day. Other communities which have gone over the top are Leeds, Pine Valley, Santa Clara New Harmony and Veyo. Complete Purchase by Sat. noon, All the bonds bought during December will count on this drive. We do hope that those who have been slow in making their pur- chases will do everything they can ; to complete their purchases by Saturday noon so they can be ! used to our credit. 1 " The battle lines on all fronts are more bitterly contested than ; at any other time during the war and yet we have people at home " who have neglected their respon- sibility to their boys and to their '; neighbor's boys; who have failed j to loan money in the conduct of this struggle. We believe there J are only a few in Washington county, and these need only a reminder to do their part in help- 1 ing this county go over the top. si |
