Show War Bond Queens Meet Star June 13 At Cedar Blond Marjorie Reynolds Lauds Worrk of Queens; Bond Sales Are- Mounting Washington, Iron and Beaver county War Bond Queen candidates candi-dates met in Cedar City Wednesday, Wednes-day, June 13, to be presented to Miss Marjorie Reynolds, the lovely love-ly blond movie star. The six Washington county queens, Mary Miller Ray of Washington, Helen Hafen of Santa Clara. Deloris Sullivan, Vivian Frost, Betty Jo Morris and Helen Brooks attended under the chaperonage of Mrs. Roy Williams. All business houses in Cedar City o'osed for the afternoon and a large crowd assembled at Hotel Eseilu te for the presentation. Each candidate appeared at the microphone and was introduced to the audience and on the air. Miss Reynolds made a brilliant appeal for the bond drive and was followed by other excellent speakers speak-ers At 'he conclusion of the meeting, meet-ing, Miss Reynolds and the candidates candi-dates retired to the hotel lobby, where each county group was photographed with the star. More than 50 per cent of the E Bonds have been sold, and the goal will be reached, assures the committee. The Bond Queen vote talley today to-day gives Vivian C. Frost 1358 votes; Helen Brooks, 821; Betty Jo Morris, 710; Deloris Sullivan, 656, Mary Miller Ray, 600, and Helen Hafen, 457. |
