Show St. George Stake Male Choir Wins Praise For Conference Singing Mothers-Daughters Meet; Fillers' Work Stressed; New Appointments Made High praise was given the St. George male choir for their singing sing-ing during quarterly conference held in St. George Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10. Joseph V. McAllister conducted, with Mrs. Mae Pace at the piano and Mrs. J. Louis Pulsipher at the .y. organ. The choir included mom-bers mom-bers from the four St. George wards, Santa Clara, and Washington, Wash-ington, with ensemble and group M numbers. The choir sang three numbers I4. at the Saturday evening Priest-n Priest-n hood session. There were talks V ' by the various representatives of the Priesthood quorums and the Pmain address was given by Alma Sonne, assistant to the Twelve ' Apostles, who was the official representative. This meeting was held in the stake Tabernacle. The Mothers and Daughters session was held in the South ward chapel Saturday evening, . with Mrs. J. T Atkin Jr. con-iv con-iv jf ducting. Mrs. B. Jarvis of the Center ward talked on "Temple Marriage"; Lael Wilkinson of the IV South ward on "Prayer"; Lyla Bowler of Gunlock discussed the 1 power of the Priesthood; Barbara I J. I McMullin of Leeds, "Value of Health"; and Deloris Frei of enfal 1 Santa Clara, "Faith In God." Closing remarks were by Dr. W. 1 J. Reichmann, advisory member of the High Council, who stressed the value of clean living. A girl's ves i chorus sang, "Laddie." rand a chorus from Santa Clara sang, ; "Thy Will Be Done." .1.'.',. .. Service men attending the conference were introduced and Apostle Sonne made the concluding conclud-ing address, choosing as his theme the simplicity and sincerity of "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Sermon On the Mount" as ideals for righteous living. He also talked talk-ed on the value of religious training train-ing in the home as evidenced in the lives of servicemen and women. wo-men. Reverence was the theme of the evening session held in the Tabernacle Taber-nacle with discussions by the adults and a presentation by the young people of the East ward. There were also two numbers with the organ and piano by Mae Pace and Lenzi Sullivan. |
