Show LaYERKIN Mrs. Winferd Gubler Reporter News has been received by relatives rela-tives of the birth of a daughter, Myrna, March 19th, to Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Gifford, at the Las Vegas hospital. Cyrus Gifford, Orrin Hepworth, Max Woodbury, Sam Frank and Paul Wilson all of whom have employment in Nevada, spent the week end here with their families. LaVerkin has the honor of having hav-ing one of its members selected as counselor to the stake presidency, presi-dency, Bishop LaFel Iverson being be-ing the honored person. He was chosen as second counselor to Pres. Claud Hirschi, upon the release re-lease of Pres. Alvin Englestead, who has moved to Millard county. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Harris and children, and James Harris of Mesquite were Saturday visitors at the home of Brigham Hardy. Miss Ora Hardy has gone to Mesquite and Las Vegas to visit relatives. Miss Allie Sanders, who has employment em-ployment at Mesquite, spent part of last week here with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sanders. San-ders. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hinton are at the home of his mother, Mrs. LaVell Hinton. Mr. Hinton has been employed by the Chevrolet company of Cedar City, but is now expecting to get employment in the defense work in Nevada. Mrs. Amelia Sanders is ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lorin Squires. Mr. Squires is home form the McGregor hospital where he had an appendectomy. Mrs. Melvin Stratton is visiting her mother, Mrs. A. D. Stock. Mrs. George Harris is visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. LaVell Hinton. Mrs. Grant Hardy is visiting in Cedar City with her sister, who is at the Iron county hospital. |
