Show Survivors of First Dixie Board Of Education To Speak On Dixie Day Washing of 'D' Conies First With Dance Ending Day's Program George F. Whitehead and Arthur F. Miles, only survivors of the first board of education of the Dixie college, then known as the St. George stake academy, will be the speakers at the Founders' program pro-gram to be given at 11 o'clock Friday morning in the Tabernacle. The program is a part of the annual an-nual Dixie day festivities. Tributes will be given the Founders by representatives of the various college classes, and an excellent musical program has been arranged. This program is prepared especially for the founders found-ers and the present-day patrons of the college. The day's activities will start with the whitewashing of the "D", by the college seniors, assisted by the freshmen. At 10:30 a parade, featuring the theme, "Keep 'em Flying", will traverse the business district. Each class will represent a division of the theme and will carry a banner. ban-ner. The students will wear appropriate ap-propriate headdress. The coronation of the queen, Miss Barbara Tweedie, will take place in the dance Friday evening, as the concluding event of the day. The coronation ceremony is under the direction of Mrs. Ada Neilson. Miss Margaret Jones is assisting with the costumes. Mrs. Ann Robinson is chairman of this part of the day's activities. The ceremony will continue the patriotic theme of the day, the National Colors being used for the costumes. During the day the classes will hold luncheon on the hill below the "D", where a special program for the students has been prepared. |
