Show HURRICANE Catliren Ruling Reporter Miss Florence Imlay left Thursday Thurs-day for Salt. Lake City, where she expects to find employment. Stake conference was held here Sunday, March 23rd. Marion G. Itonmey assistant to the quorum of Twelve Apostles was the visiting visit-ing speaker. Alvin Englestead, who has been counselor to Pres. Claud Ilirschi, for the past ten years, was released on account of having moved to Kanosh. LaFell Iverson was sustained as counselor to President Ilirschi. Abner Gibson and son, Hugh, who have spent the winter in Los Angeles are home until after sheep shearing time. A farewell was given in the stake house Wednesday, March 18th for Elwood Reber who is leaving for the northwestern states, and Emerson Hall who is going to the New England states on missions. There was a program followed by dancing and refreshments refresh-ments were served. Clell Covington, Marion Hinton and Fay Reber were home 'for the week end. They are employed at the Douglas Aircraft in California. Cali-fornia. Malan Gibson was home from Las Vegas Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Emily Gibson is seriously ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Retta Smith at Cedar City. J. H. Riding left March 23rd for Delta. He expects to be gone all summer. Mrs. Josephine Sandberg, Mrs. Eva Webb, Mrs. Lillian Stratton and Mrs. Inez Bergner attended the nutrition class in St. George. Myron Bybce was here Saturday Satur-day and Sunday on business, connected con-nected with the liquor commission. Mrs. Bybee and their two daughters, daugh-ters, Juanita and Georgia were with him. Miss Glenna Webb has gone to Salt Lake City, where she expects ex-pects to make an extended stay. New Books At Library The public library has the following fol-lowing new books: "The Heart of Europe", by Hairy Best. This book tells how Soviet Russia became be-came what it is today. "North of Singapore", by Carveht Wells. The wonderland that is the East of today, described in a book which shows Mr. Wells at his best. "My Narrow Isle", by Sumie Seo Mishima. This is a story of a modern woman in Japan.' The librarian is anxious to have everyone hand in a list of books that they would like to have in the library. |
