Show HEWS OF THE COUNTY SEAT Mrs- A. II. Lindorf and three children of Salt Lake City spent Thanksgiving holidays with Miss Lena Nelson and Nelson Lindorf, who is attending school here this winter. Mrs. Matt Cropper of Delta is a surgery patient at the hospital since Nov. 25. Mrs. Charles Stevens entered the hospital Nov. 20 for surgery The A. D. Q. club members were guests Monday evening of Miss Ruth Hafen. Along with their program of visiting and sewing, the members drew gift names for the Christmas party. Rex Gardner received medical care at the local hospital Nov. 20 to 24. Mrs. Argyle Roper returned early Tuesday from Camp San Luis Obispo, where she has been caring for her son, Arthur, during dur-ing the past month. Mrs. William Baker entertained the Three-W club at the home of her mother, Mrs. Annie M. Webb, Wednesday evening. Mrs. Vilate Leavitt, Mrs. Hale Pearce and Mrs. Evelyn Snow shared honors. Refreshments were served. Following dinner at the Libetry cafe the Wednesday Night Bridge club members were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. J. Milne at their home. Three tables were played, with Mrs. Joseph Judd making high score for the ladies and Morton Mor-ton Morris for the men. Mrs. Ruth Jensen arrived Sunday Sun-day from Neola, Utah, to spend the week with relatives. Her brother, J. E. Blazzard came in Monday from Logan, for an extended ex-tended appointment in connection with his work. This marked the first time the entire group of Blazzard brothers and sisters have been together since the death of their parents, five years ago. Mrs. Earl J. Bleak is a medical patient at the local hospital since Nov. 23. Mrs. Marvin Jensen of Brigham City, Mrs. Sam Stucki and Stewart Stew-art Thorley, both of Cedar City, were house guests over the weekend week-end of Mrs. R. A. Thorley while assisting with caring for their father, who died Monday morning. JK- -V. D. S. hospital for surgery. Mrs. Turnbeaugh and daughter, Mrs. M. A. Bauer left Wednesday for Salt Lake City to be with him. j(. -J'- -J'-if if 'if Miss Janice Schmutz is leaving today (Thursday) for a brief Coast vacation. Discharges from the hospital during the week include Mrs. F. W. Gould and baby girl, Mrs. Norman Gubler and baby boy, Mrs. James Lawrence and Karl Hannig. Officers of the Center ward children's Primary announce- their annual harvest ball will be held in the basement of the stake Tabernacle Tab-ernacle at 4 p.m., Monday, Dec. 1, and invite all ward parents and others interested to attend. The afternoon will include a presentation presenta-tion of the project completed by the children during the summer. The four local wards held their annual ward conferences at their respective buildings Sunday as part of the Sacramental services. Members of the stake presidency and high council attended the pro-crams pro-crams officially and the heads of various departments reported their respective ward activities during the year. Snow and other relatives. Mr and Mrs. "e. D. McQuarrie of Provo were among the many Thanksgiving vacation guests who registered at the McQuarrie Memorial Me-morial hall. Mr. McQuarrie is a -ousin of Hortense McQuarrie Odium. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. J. Milne and son, LorrairTe, are leaving Friday for Salt Lake City on business. Guests over Thanksgiving holidays holi-days of Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Schmutz were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cox of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schmutz and baby girl of Las Vegas, and a family friend, Miss Shirley Harper Har-per of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Hafen have word this week from their son, Herschel Woods Hafen, who reports re-ports he is stationed with the quartermaster's division at Camp Ft. Warren, Wyo. Pike returned Sunday evening from Hurricane where she spent the Thanksgiving holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Dean A. Clark and daughters. Donald P. Miss Beulah Webb of Hinckley visited over Saturday with Miss Mary Pratt who is attending ,the Dixie junior college. Bleak and small daughter, Barbara Joan, left early Tuesday morning for their home in Pico, Calif., after spending spend-ing the Thanksgiving week-end with his mother, Mrs. Alice B. Bleak, and his sister, Mrs. Kate B. Empey. Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Larkin motored to Salt Lake City Sunday and back Tuesday on business. They were accompanied as far as Provo by George Andrus, LaRaine McArthur and D. C. Watson, who spent the Thanksgiving holidays with their parents. '(. ot- 'A- "rt- 'A- Bob Brooks, Evan Pickett, Glade Wittwer, Spencer Truman, Clay Williams, Nord Brockbank returned return-ed to their training at Camp San Luis Obispo, Sunday afternoon, after spending the Thanksgiving holidays visiting here with their families and friends. Miss Dawn Andrus returned on Sunday from Los Angeles, where she spent the Thanksgiving holidays holi-days with her sister, Mrs. James A. Beard. While there she attended at-tended a concert of Fritz Kreisler, the famous violinist. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Terry and small daughter, arrived from Provo Tuesday evening. They will attend the funeral of Mr. Terry's father, Thomas S. Terry. Surprise Thanksgiving visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eilenberger were Mrs. Eilenberg-er's Eilenberg-er's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. M. Luper, and' brother, Burl Lu-per, Lu-per, all of Escondido, Calif.; her sister, Mrs. Robert Fiala, and Burl's friend, Paul Darrough, of Ramona, Calif. The party stayed over Saturday, visiting many places of interest in this vicinity, including the Temple bureau, the McQuarrie Memorial hall and the Zion National Park. This is their first visit to St. George. |
