Show MESQUITE Mrs. Daisy L. Reber Reporter Senator Berkeley L. Bunker was in the Virgin Valley looking over various projects recently, accompanied accom-panied by John Wittwer, extension agent. The senator spoke to an assembly at the Virgin Valley high school on the war situation. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Frehner, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Abbott and Mrs. Elmer Hughes have returned from Salt Lake City where they spent Thanksgiving with their children. Mr. and Mrs. Leo M. Hardy and Mr. and Mrs. Heber Leavitt have returned from Los Angeles, where they spent Thanksgiving with their relatives and friends. Mrs. Reed Wittwer of Santa Clara, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jensen, in Mesquite. Edwin Wells and Timberline Riggs from the Moapa Valley were the L. D. S. stake missionaries Sunday evening in Mesquite. Elmer Hughes and Hax Hafen spent today in Las Vegas attending attend-ing the United States senate subcommittee sub-committee hearing on public lands and Taylor grazing business. An election was held in Mesquite Mes-quite Monday for the purpose of deciding whether educational district dis-trict number one will bond the district an additional $40,000 improvements. |
