Works To Get Federal Airport Appropriation For Here The possibility of having St. George designated as one of the airports to receive money for the development of this field under the $40,000,000 bill passed by Congress giving Federal Aid to airports that will be used under the training of pilots for the national na-tional defense program, is being investigated by the St. George Chamber of Commerce, declares J. L. Wadsworth, president of the organization. An immediate response was made ny Mr. Wadsworth setting forth -.he advantages of the local field, -he climate and other possibilities of this section as they appertain o aviation. An effort is being made to "push" this project since St. George was among those listed .n the preferred list being studied y the government. Approximately Approximate-ly $160,000 may be spent here if his field is accepted by the government. |
