Show President of N.E.A. To Speak at College Sunday Afternoon The teachers of Southern Utah, and of Washington County in particular, par-ticular, are to be accorded a signal sig-nal honor Sunday in the appearance appear-ance of Miss Agnes Samuelson, president of the National Educa- ' tion Association. Miss Samuel-son Samuel-son is to talk to Southern Utah ! t e a c h ers in the Dixie College ; auditorium at 2:30 the after- ' noon. j Educational leaders call atten- I tion to the fact that it is seldom that the head of the national as- sociation of teachers gets to Utah, and he states, that this is prob-i prob-i ably the first time that such an official has lamea m ou ueuiec. ' Every teacher in Washington county is urged to be present to hear her. Invitations have been ii sent also to the teachers of the A other counties of southwest Utah. It e expected that there will be a large delegation from Iron and Kane counties, and that other counties will also be represented, a President B. Glen Smith said. Miss Samuelson will come to 3t. George from Las Vegas, where t she will meet with a group of w Nevada teachers Saturday. She will be escorted to St. George by state superintendent Chauncey W. j, Smith of Nevada. State super-intendent super-intendent Charles H. Skidmore of Salt Lake City will meet her here , and escort her through Utah. ! From here she will go to visit the ! Southern Utah parks and on to central Utah.Her next stop will I probably be at Ephraim. Salt Lake and Ogden will also likely be included in the itinerary. Beside the talk by Miss Sarn- Euelson, there will be a musical p r ogram. Superintendent SkidT-.( SkidT-.( more will be a guest of the teach-ers teach-ers here and may give a short SI talk. Supt. Milton E. Moody of Washington county will give the m address of welcome. The Dixie College band will give a short concert on the college, beginning 9 at 2: 2D. The concert will con- tinue until a short time after the arrival of Miss Samuelson, after which the group will adjourn to the auditorium. The public is cordially invited to join the teachers in this program. |
