Show PROSPECTS FOR FISHING REPORTED GOOD IN COUNTY With Sunday, May 17 being designated as the opening day for fishing, anglers axe beginning to wonder just what the fishing prospects will be for this year. With this in mind the News re-porter re-porter contacted Bryan Lund, president of the Washington County Fish and Game Protective association and was informed by him that a considerable number of legal size fish have been planted plan-ted this spring. According to Mr. Lund there have been six tanks of fish planted plan-ted in the county recently. These tanks contained between 2500 and 3000 legal size fish. In addition ad-dition to this he pointed out that there were 150,000 small fish planted in the two reservoirs at enterprise last year and 25,000 German brown and 25,000 Rain-bow Rain-bow at Sand cove. German brown were also planted at Hunt's Ranch, in the creek below Cot-tam's Cot-tam's pool and in Quail creek above Leeds. Of the six tanks of legal size fish planted this year one went into the stream above the reservoir reser-voir that is being constructed at Pine Valley, one at the bridge in fields at Pine "Valley, one at Hunt's Ranch, one divided in A'sh and1 Leeds creek, one at the head of the Gulch in Pine Valley and one at the Enterprise reservoir. Indications at the present time point to high water on the opening open-ing date. This is ' usually the case, however, with the number of fish that have been planted this year added to the thousands of small ones distributed in the fishing waters of the county last year, everything points to some good sport. |
