Show Temple Hews For Week Wednesday Dec. 27, W. W. Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur offered the opening prayer. President Snow called up D. Garn Heaton, who has filled a mission in Great Britian and his brother Keith, who has received his call in the Western States mission to speak for a few moments. Kenneth Ken-neth J. Roundy and his wife also spoke briefly. Undine M. Caldwell sang a solo and George E. Tobler furnished a vocal trio. Thursday, Dec. 28, E. Ellis Everett gave the invocation. Pres. Snow called several young men who had filled missions in the Swiss German mission to occupy the time and Irene Everett, violinist, who is a convert from the German mission played two very fine numbers. Gertrude Irma Helbling, a convert from the same mission and Howard Schmutz were married by Pres. Harold S. Snow after the morning session. Friday, Dec. 29. Joseph Johnson from Tropic offered the opening prayer. Doctor Crowley and party from the Santa Barbara district of the California mission arrived yesterday and they were called upon to speak. Some of the group will do baptisms while they are here. Saturday, Dec. 30, Elmo R. Webster opened with prayer and Lillis Ence who recently returned from the' Texas mission gave a very fine address. Three sessions were held. Monday, Jan. 1, Pres. Bryan L. Bunker of the Moapa stake opened with prayer. Harvey Sprague and Patriarch William E. Abbott, David A. Abbott and Patriarch Martin A. Bunker, occupied oc-cupied the time and congratulated the people of their stake for their splendid turnout from every town and hamlet in Nevada. The assembly as-sembly room was filled beyond its capacity. The group remained over for four sessions. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings was served to more than 200 people in the Temple dining room. Cummings Gardner and Wanda Romney were married in the evening eve-ning by Pres. Harold S. Snow and a welcoming crowd came to witness wit-ness the ceremony. |
