Show St. George Gardeners Hold First 1940 Meeting The first regular meeting of the St. George Gardener's club will be held in the basement of the county library from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. Jan. 6, announces the president. Mrs. Arnold McArthur. At this meeting the newly formed organization will officially launch its 1940 program. Guest speaker for the evening will be Arthur A. Paxman who will discuss dis-cuss "Plant Groups and the care of potted plants". This should be a subject of keen interest just at this time of year when so many are having difficulties with their potted plants. Louis H. Burley of Salt Lake Cit.y. now gardener at the St. George Temple, will also be in attendance and will answer any questions that may be presented. The officers are sincerely hoping hop-ing that many people will avail themselves of the opportunity to obtain this instruction, and will take active interest in bringing into realization the slogan set by the St. George Gardener's club, for "Mote and better gardens, more and finer flowers and shrubs, community upkeep and beautifi-cal beautifi-cal ion". |
