Show Fire Prevention Measures Listed by Chief Paolasso The following steps for those who wish to aid in preventing fires, are listed by Fire Chief Julio Paolasso. This is in keeping with the national program being sponsored spon-sored throughout the nation during dur-ing National Fire Prevention week, October 8 to 14. 1. All dry weeds should be piled away from fences and other surroundings. Care must be taken 1 not to burn them on windy days. 2. Use only non-inflamable 1 cleaning fluids. O is -.n . . 3. Keep cellar and attic clear of papers and rubbish. Keep matches in metal containers and out of the reach of children. Place a screen in front of your fireplace. 4. Clean all chimneys, furnaces fur-naces and stoves. Replace all worn-out worn-out parts. Empty all ashes in metal containers. 5. Use only correct size electric elec-tric fuses. Never bridge a blown I fuse with a coin or wire. 6. Always disconnect heat-producing heat-producing electrical appliances when not in use. 7.
