Show La Yerkin j Mrs. Alice Gubler j Reporter Joseph Gubler was seriously injured in-jured Friday when a numlxr of sacks of beet seed tipped from the truck load burying him underneath. under-neath. His back was broken, two vertibrae being crushed. He was taken at once to the Iron county hospital where he was put in a cast. Mrs. Gubler is staying in Cedar City with him. Henry Gifford of Mt. Carmel is here visiting with his sister, Mrs. Hardy Segler and family. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Graff and family of Salt Lake City spent one day here last week visiting at the home of Emil J. Graff. The Y.W.M.I.A. and the Relief Society were reorganized in sacrament sac-rament meeting Sunday, Mildred Mil-dred Sanders, president, and La-Vell La-Vell Hinton and Matilda Duncan as counselors of the Y.W.M.I.A. were released and Ruby Webb, as president and LaVell Hinton and Amelia Wilson were sustained in their places. Samuel Earl and family have moved into Clifford Wallace's home and Theron Stevens and family have moved into Nellie Stout Hopkin's home. Mrs. LaVell Hinton is spending a brief vacation in Salt Lake City visiting with sisters there. The baseball game with Rock-1 vilie Saturday was another vie- i toi-y for La Verkin. The score was j 6 to 13. j La Verkin had a record breaking ; day at the church cannery on j Friday. They put up 2201 cans j of peaches, which is the highest j number put up by any one ward in one day. ' |
