Show 1 D.U.P. Convention 'Held at Cedar City Aug. 25 Last Thursday, August 25, a district D.U.P. convention was held at Cedar City with delegates attending from Beaver, Iron and Washington counties. Pres. Ida M. Kirkham, and three of her coworkers co-workers from the state central company, were also present. The meetings at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. were held in the first ward chapel and, lunch was served during the noon hour. The regular D.U.P. camp meetings meet-ings will commence in September, being held monthly until May. In St. George the local units will hold their meetings for the first time in the McQuarrie Memorial Hall. The Manomas Andrus camp will hold on Monday, September 5, at 3 p.m.; the Foster camp will hold Tuesday, September 6, at 3 p.m. and the Dixie camp will hold Wednesday, September 7, at 3 p.m. "Now that we have a spacious auditorium in which to meet," declares Mrs. Hazel Bradshaw, county D.U.P. president, "we extend ex-tend a general invitation for all women or girls over 18 years of age, who have one or more ancestor ances-tor who came to Utah before May 10, 1869, to come and join one of these camps. "Songs from our pioneer song book will be sung and a lesson on 'Utah in Pre-Pioneer Days' will be given in addition to pioneer histories his-tories and stories. "Remember if you have a Utah pioneer ancestor you are welcome at the D.U.P. camp meetings in your locality." |
