Show Party Honors Departing Pine Valley Missionaries The testimonal given in the south ward chapel Tuesday evening even-ing honoring the two departing missionaries from Pine Valley ward was well attended. The people of Pine Valley were here as a unit, and many St. George friends of Malin Cox and Dean Gardner were also in attendance. Bp. E. S. Gardner of Pine Valley Val-ley ward was in charge of the program, with Seth Harper at the pipe organ, and Mrs. Rex Gardner leading the singing. The program included vocal solo, Noma Andrus; duet, Shirley Harper and Lois Gardner; solo, Maurine Gardner; organ solo, "Dance of the Hours" Seth Harper, and congregational singing of "Now Let Us Rejoice In the Day of Salvation" and "Count Your Blessings". Addresses were by Pres. W. O. Bentley, Bp. Vernon Worthen, Wayne Whitehead, the missionaries, mission-aries, Malin Cox and Dean Gardner, Gard-ner, Mrs. Maude Crosby Gardner and Bp. E. S. Gardner. Mr. Cox was praised for his excellent work as a member of the Pine Valley bishopric and worker in ward organizations, and Mr. Gardner for his dilligence as a M Man of the M.I.A. both in Pine Valley and the St. George west ward. Prayers were by Levi Snow and Rex Gardner. Following the meeting the people peo-ple of Pine Valley were entertained entertain-ed at the St. George home of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Gardner, where an informal program was given. Both missionaries were recipients re-cipients of contributions in money and personal gifts which were greatly appreciated. They will report re-port in Salt Lake City on January Jan-uary 2. |
