Show GOVERNMENT XOW CHECKING TITLE OK LAND TO BE USED FOR FEDERAL BUILDING SITE David H. Morris has received a letter from W. K. Laws of chief of the legal section, stating that the matter of examination of title to the land for the Federal building build-ing is in the hands of the Department Depart-ment c-f Justice and as soon as the Attorney General's report on the title of examination has been received the matter of making payment for the land for the building site will be given prompt attention. The letter farther states that as soon as the title to the land is vested in the United States and the attorney general has approved the title, the matter of awarding a contract for the construction of a Post Office building will be given prompt attention. Those who are following this project closely are perturbed by the fact the above correspondence speaks of the building as a "Post Office building" instead of a "Federal "Fed-eral building." Local organizations organiza-tions are anxions that a Federal building be erected here instead of just a post office building. |
