Show Virgin Mrs. Minerva Earl Reporter Horace Cornelius returned home from Sparks, Nev. where he has been working on the railroad for the past six months. The M Men have been playing play-ing a series of basketball games with Rockville, Springdale and Hurricane. They lost the game with Rockville, won over Spring-dale Spring-dale and lost by one point with Hurricane, the score was 32-33. Mike Physoic has returned to his sheep herd. After being in town on business the past two weeks. B. M. Jones, Niles Earl and Karl Spendlove were business visitors in Cedar City. The school has prepared a Christmas program which will be given tonight. Mrs. Veda Lemmons took her Beehive class to Springdale Tuesday Tues-day night to the Mutual plays given there. A P.-T.A. party was held on December 14. There was a good attendance. Refreshments were served and a good time was enjoyed en-joyed by all. Miss Venice Spendlove spent a few days home from the L.D.S. hospital where she is nursing. Bishop and Mrs. Alma Flanigan and daughter, Norma and Mrs. Hugh Wilcox were visitors at St. George Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Jones were visiting at Las Vegas last week with their daughter, Florence, who was ill. Mr. Richardson of this district and Mr. Nelson of the State First Aid Safety department of WPA, were here yesterday inspecting and giving instruction on safety precautions as there have been several fatal accidents in the divisional district. They will have to be more strict in the use of powder. . During the past five months our WPA workers have blasted a 160 foot tunnel at the head of our spring to increase the water supply for culinary use. The increase was more than was expected. |
