Show Miss Alice Englestead, who is attending Ogden City high school came home Sunday to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Englestead. Miss Ellen Sanders of Salt Lake City is home for a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders. Miss Sanders, who is cashier and receptionist at the Peter Pan Cafe in Salt Lake Los Angeles, where she will be joined by her fiance, Dr. McLean Mc-Lean Bingman, to spend the holiday season. The Thursday night pinochle club met at the home of Mrs. Irma Stevens where a happy evening was passed playing cards and visiting. Refreshments were served to 12 guests. Prizes were won by Mrs. Delia Sanders and Mrs. Evadna Bradshaw. Mrs. Webb Barber entertained the bridge club Wednesday evening even-ing at her home where first prize was won by Mrs. Maude Reid and second prize went to Mrs. Leland Stout. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scholzen have just completed the terracing terrac-ing around their new home. Six hundred tulip and narcisis bulbs have been planted and workmen are laying the sprinkling system for the lawns. Mrs. Scholzen reports re-ports that the shrubs and lawns are to be put in during January. Mr. and Mrs. John T. Hall, Mrs. David Hirschi and Mrs. Claudius Hirschi attended funeral services on Saturday at New Harmony for Mrs. Susan Pace. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Taylor of New Harmony and Hugh Hirschi of Cedar City spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Hirschi. The following young men at Hurricane have received letters from "Box B" at Salt Lake City. They and the missions to which they have been called are as follows: fol-lows: Leo H. Reeve, Canadian mission; Clell Covington, Netherlands; Nether-lands; Gladen Dalton, Southern states; Fae F. Reber, North Western States, and Hal Bradshaw, Brad-shaw, California. They will report to the mission home at Salt Lake City on January 23. Mrs. E. Clark Mclntire returned return-ed Friday from Salt Lake City where she has been medical aid during the past three weeks. Her many friends will be glad to know that she is feeling fine now. The south ward junior genealogy genea-logy class held their regular weekly meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burr Bradshaw Sunday evening where their son, Que, and the Misses Alta Hinton and Barbara did the entertaining. The lesson was given by Clark Ballard and Miss Ruth Wall led in the social mixers after the meeting. |
