Show Hurricane MLss Audrey Ballard Iteixrter Mrs. Densie Beams left Friday for Lo;an where she will spend some time visiting her daughter. Mrs. Jesse Bliss left Sunday for Three Lakes for a brief stay with friends and relatives. Miss LaPrele Isom left Thursday Thurs-day for a few days' vacation in Fredonia, Ariz. She returned on Monday. Announcements were received here Sunday of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Merrill P. Fawson, who have moved to Salt Lake City for the summer. The child will be christened Marilyn. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. David Teeples, Mr. and Mrs. Golden 1 Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Vernal toiratton motored to is.anaD wnere they decorated graves of relatives and friends. Dwight Hinton, John Imlay and Gordon Campbell were visitors in Ogden Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Webb Barber accompanied them as far as Provo where Mr. Barber is making arrangements for summer sum-mer school. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stout, Elmer Graff, Miss Dorothy Terry, and the 37 Hurricane FFFA fellows fel-lows left Friday for the San Francisco world fair. They will be gone for eight clays. Burdell Wood and Elwood Spendlove accompanied accom-panied the St. George FFA group. After a week's visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hinton, Carlon Hinton returned Sunday to his position on a Goodyear Rubber Co. farm in Arizona. Ira and Earl Englestead were week end visitors from Grand Wash, Ariz. The cherry havesting began in earnest this week. Most of the crops are light, but the cherries are large. Mrs. Richard Isom has been staying with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Williams Wil-liams of Kanarra during the past few days. Mrs. Maurice Nuttall returned on Thursday from a visit in Overton Over-ton with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lyon. Miss Ruth Wall, physical education edu-cation teacher at Hurricane high school, is vacationing in Los Angeles with friends. Milton Holt of Gunlock was here Friday after his wife and daughter, who have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Webb. Mr. and Mrs. Charles, Fisher of Los Angeles were here Saturday looking for farming land. After a prolonged stay with friends, Miss Maxine Hopkins has returned for the summer to Cedar City. Joel J. Roundy left Monday for Salt Lake City where he will undergo an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson of Enterprise spent the week end at the home of Mrs. Densie Beams. Mrs. Lyle Godby of California is here for the summer as a guest at the Walter Spendlove home. Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Sullivan arrived here Monday from Los Angeles for a visit with Mr. and . Mrs. Frank Sullivan. P. H. Gates spent the past week In Kane and Iron counties on business. He returned on Sunday. Harvey Dalton, supervisor of the N.Y.A, announces that the foundation for the new shop building build-ing is almost completed. Tuesday the town .of Hurricane began making a new rock ditch directly in front of the elementary school building. Overflowing water from the old ditch was causing the road to sink and cave in, making a new ditch necessary. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bunker were guests Friday at the J. H. Riding home. Miss Mildred Nelson of Pleasant Grove is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Jepson. Mrs. Jesse Robb from Para-gonah Para-gonah left for her home on Tuesday Tues-day after a brief visit .with Mr. and Mrs. Chester Slack. Mrs. R. D. Adams is being treated in the Cedar City hospital. hospi-tal. It is reported that she is recovering nicely. R. D. Adams returned Tuesday from Escalante where he has been working for the past few weeks. Mrs. Hattie Stapley, Mrs. Harriet Har-riet Stapley and Mrs. Mina Piatt of Kanarra, and Mr., and Mrs. Rulon Piatt of Murray- were guests Monday at the home of Ephraim Webb. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jones of Pioche were here Monday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Isom. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Wright of Phoenix, Ariz, were here visiting visit-ing Mr. and Mrs. Grant Sanders on Tuesday. Mrs. Vadna Bradshaw left Tuesday Tues-day for Ogden where she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Weldon Heslop. Harry Cannonfield from Tre-monten Tre-monten arrived here Monday to visit with Miss LaVerd Wright. Robert Marshall of Arizona is spending a few days at the Arthur Brown home. Mr. Marshall is . planning to make his home here. The barn of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hinton burned down on Tuesday, killing one horse and destroying three tons of hay. |
