Show Pine Yalley Mrs. E. S. Beckstrom Reporter Doctor and Mrs. Clarence S. Gardner of Oakland, Calif, returned re-turned to their home on Thursday Thurs-day after spending several days visiting here at the home of his father, Reuben Gardner. During their stay, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jones of Cedar City spent a day with them, Mrs. Jones being the doctor's sister. i Miss Maxine Sullivan of St. George is a guest of her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Emma Beckstrom. Mrs. Gerald Malchus and children chil-dren returned to their home here on Friday after spending the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bracken, in Central. Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Gardner and daughters, Maurine and Lois, returned here on Friday to spend the summer. Since their home was recently destroyed by fire, they are living in the Glenn Snow home until they can re-build. Miss Mary Judd and a group of her girl friends are guests of her sister, Mrs. Clawson Burgess while Mr. Burgess is away on the spring cattle round-up. Ranger and Mrs. I. H. Johnson spent Saturday in Cedar City on business. Levi Snow returned here on Tuesday from St. George with his children, who have been there " attending school during the past winter. Mr. and Mrs. George Gardner and daughter, Helen, of Salt Lake City spent a short time here on Saturday enroute home from a trip to San Juan county and Arizona. They are collecting material ma-terial on the history of the set-' set-' tling of San Juan, so spent the week following over the old trails covered by the first explorers to that country. Mr. Gardner is a son of Celestia S. and the late John A. Gardner, who were some of our pioneers. They moved to Logan, in 1909 and he had not been here since then. Misses Linna and Bessie Snow returned home on Saturday from teaching the past winter. Mrs. Libbie Christian of St. George has moved here for the summer; she is occupying the Lloyd house next to her children, Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Bleak. Mrs. Grant Robinson and two children of Hinckley, and LoRay Bennet of Reno, Nev., returned to their homes on Tuesday after visiting here several days at the home of their grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Jacobson. Nearly everyone in town attended attend-ed the funeral services held in Central on Thursday for Wm. A. Bracken. He spent most of his life here, his death marks the passing of one of our oldest and best known pioneers. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gardner and family returned to their home here on Friday from St. George where they spent the winter. Most of the men in town have been busy during the past week gathering cattle preparatory to having them counted on to the forest for the summer. Orlo and Verle Hall have returned re-turned home from the Dixie college col-lege where they attended school during the winter. Pres. and Mrs. Glenn E. Snow and family spent the week end here with relatives. They expect to leave soon for Provo, where Mr. Snow has been employed as an instructor in the B.Y.U. for the first term of summer school. |
