Show 1 National Youth Convention Slated For St. George Washington county will present its National Youth Administration in convention Saturday, May 13, in St. George. The local program will be in charge of Vaughn Cottam, and his associate workers, with James M. Nelson as convention chairman, heading the General committee. The theme of the convention is scheduled as the "Outlook For Youth", the music, sports, and general convention program being conformed to this idea. A county essay contest is being featured in this connection, the three best essays to be presented. Speakers of the day will include Glenn E. Snow, president of the Dixie junior college; Mrs. Roxey Romney, county librarian and Mayor Albert E. Miller. A banquet will be held at 1 p.m. with toasts and musical numbers. num-bers. A sports program will follow at 3 p.m. and will include four soft ball games and miscellaneous events. There will be a tour of St. George at 6 p.m. under the local guide service, and a grand ball at night in the recreation hall, the Dixie college swing band will furnish the music. A well-filled well-filled day is planned for convention conven-tion visitors and participants. |
