Show Hurricane j Julia Whitney ! Reporter j Nellie Flanigan of Cedar City spent the week-end with Mi's. William Ruesch. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Roundy and family returned recently from a tour through Grand Canyon and New Mexico. The Hurricane North ward missionary mis-sionary class had a party Friday to raise funds for Christmas presents pres-ents for the missionaries in the field. The party was held at the home of Mrs. Louisa Williams. Several Hurricane fellows have enlisted in the Army and left Saturday for Salt Lake City to enter training. They are Kent Bradshaw, Quenton Hartley, Ter-min Ter-min Isom, Paul Jepson and Al-viron Al-viron Shamo. Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Berry and son spent Saturday and Sunday with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Whitney. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Heaton, Frank Barber and his two children, child-ren, Beulah and Leila, left Saturday Sat-urday to attend the family reunion re-union at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scholzen returned Saturday from Salt Lake City where he consulted a specialist. spe-cialist. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bishop and daughters, Rayda and Cheryl and Mr. and Mrs. John Hilton of Delta, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hinton. Friday evening a car driven by Doyle Humpheries overturned when trying to make a sharp turn. Burdell Wood is suffering from a broken arm, but aside from that the other passengers were not hurt. Joseph Heaton is home for a short visit from Cedar Mountain where he is employed. Eleanor Nichols, Phyllis Perry and Ruth Wall spent the weekend week-end in Las Vegas where they went to see the air show. The Wednesday night club met at Emmerine Graff's for their regular meeting. Lena Gates won first prize and LaVerna Graff consolation prize. Mrs. Wells Murriot and children child-ren of Ogden are spending a few days with her brother, Dr. Clark Mclntyre. Ora Reeve returned from Salt Lake City Saturday where she spent a few days on business. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Hirschi spent part of last week in Logan visiting their daughter, Barbara. Grace Staheli and Blanche Spendlove went to Beaver last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lenzi Sullivan of St. George to visit their sister, Mrs. Ruth Hiatt. Mrs. Nelson Snow was honored hon-ored at a friendship shower Monday Mon-day evening. A group of friends came from St. George and there were about 20 guests. The shower show-er was held at the home of Marie Stanworth. |
