Show Wards Cooperate In Presenting Road Show Here Friday Night Cooperating in a fund drive, the Washington, Santa Clara, Ivins and the four St. George wards presented a road show last Friday Fri-day evening which presented talent tal-ent from each of the wards and was successful in providing additional addi-tional funds for the bishop's storehouse. From Washington ward came a one-act play, "The Three Smiths", with Victor Iverson, (Continued on page five) Ward Road Show (Continued from first page) Elmo Sproul and Kathleen Turner Turn-er in the cast. Santa Clara featured music and singing with Kenneth Tobler, singing, "Song of Songs", and "Golden Key"; quartets, "Sweet Evalina", and "Bring the Wagon Home, John", by Henry Graff, El lis J. Reber, Ernest Reber and Vivian J. Frei, Mrs. Clarence Moss accompanist; and reading, "Betty at the Baseball Game", by Barbara Ray. Third on the program was Ivins ward with an instrumental duet, "Waiting For the Snow", by Shirley Reber and Jack Reber. Trumpet solo, Roosevelt Tobler, and a second trumpet number, "Whispering Hope", by Jack Reber, Reb-er, Miss Lillis Ence accompanist. Talent from the Center and South wards featured Jeanne Painter, singing, "Beautiful Dreamer", a reading, "Patterns", Pearl Matheson, trombone solo, Norman Hunt, reading, "The Champion Spitter", Emma Young, violin solo, Irene Everett, vocal solo, "Sylvia", Hal Lund. The East ward presented a farce, "All On A Summer Day", featuring Mrs. B. G. Milne, Mrs. Hy Thomas, Mrs. W. J. Reich-man Reich-man and Margaret Kemp. An original reading, "Dividing the Wards", by Mae McAllister, tap dance, Evelyn Nelson and Ra-mona Ra-mona Hafen, solo, Caroline Cottam. Cot-tam. West ward numbers were introduced intro-duced in an original script by Anne R. Price, presenting the chorus in, "Sunrise and You", and a pantomime, "When You and I Were Young, Maggie", with Margaret Mitchell and Annabelle McDonald. In each ward impromptu music, readings and singing filled in any waits made necessary in transporting trans-porting show sets from one ward to another, and the entire evening eve-ning was pronounced a success. This program was sponsored by the M. I. A. groups to assist in reising funds for completion of the bishops' storehouse and participants par-ticipants and patrons are thanked. |
