Show Lions Clubs Show Interest In Gavel and Gong Contest Ten members of the Kanab Lions club met with the St. George Lions club at their regular meeting meet-ing last Thursday evening. This was the first meeting of the Gong and Gavel contest sponsored by Zone Five. Kanab took the Gong and Gavel home with them and the St. George club vowed to bring it back. Twenty-seven members of the local club drove to Kanab Monday Mon-day to attend the Lions club luncheon there and incidentally to bring the Gong and Gavel back to St. George. It is expected that the meeting tonight will be visited by Kanab, Cedar City and possibly Panguitch as the club traveling the greatest number of man miles per club population by June 30 will get to retain permanent per-manent possession of this prize. Cedar has 63 members, St. George 55, and Kanab and Panguitch each have 25. |
