Show Toquerville jRIrs. Rowena Slack i Reporter j Mrs. Ruby Eames of New York City is here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heber J. Naegle. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pate and son, Vernon, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harvey of Redlands, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Esbert Batty. Mrs. Laura Bringhurst is visiting visit-ing in Silver City for a month. Mrs. Fern Bringhurst is .visiting .visit-ing at Bear Lake. Charles Bringhurst returned on Wednesday from Ogden where he visited for a few days. Maxine Slack of Logan is visiting visit-ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slack. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Lester of Panguitch and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wood of Provo are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Smith. Ephraim Allen of Gila Valley, Ariz, spent Monday and Tuesday visiting relatives and friends here. He is a former resident of Toquerville. Toquer-ville. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Earl have purchased the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bringhurst. Mrs. Belva Sanders and children chil-dren of LaVerkin are visiting Mrs. Sanders' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bringhurst. The July 4 celebration began with a grand parade at 9:30 followed fol-lowed by a meeting in the ward hall. The following numbers were given: Community singing, "Star-Spangled "Star-Spangled Banner"; prayer, Eugene Fletcher; solo, "God Bless America", Ameri-ca", Kenneth Slack; pledging al-legience al-legience to the flag, Kenneth Slack; talk by Mrs. Lorine I. Higbee; cornet solo, George Slack; reading, Mrs. Addie Naegle; song, primary children; talk, Goddess of Liberty. Yvonne Jackson; duet, Wilma Kleinman and Gweneth Fletcher; song, "America". Benediction, Bene-diction, Mrs. Jennie Lamb. At 2 p.m. sports were held, after which a dance was given for the children. |
