Show Snow Hinders Research c-f Mars. Jungfrau Observatory, Switzerland. A blizzard blew up from Aletch Glacier Saturday night and spoiled the chances of observing Mars under favorable conditions. The red planet plan-et was concealed by an impentrable mass of swirling snow, blown high above Jungfrau by icy winds from below. Professor Schaefe preserved i 1-hilosophic calm throughout his long fruitless vigil, and his hopes are concentrated on observations within the next few weeks, when Polar weather will come to Jungfrau, changing the snow to ice before it has time to blow up into the path of the planet. |
