Glen Smith left Wednesday for Payson, where they expect to remain until next September Septem-ber when Mr. Smith will resume his position on the faculty of the Dixie college. A. C. Coit and W. D. Stevens left yesterday, the former for San Jose, the latter for San Francisco, after attending at-tending a meeting of directors of the Virgin Dome Oil Co. here Monday and Tuesday. Dave Foremaster -lost a valuable horse while working on the graveling gravel-ing contract for Tabernacle street Tuesday evening. The horse appeared appear-ed to strain itself while working and died in a few minutes. Word has been received here that Edwin Higbee dislocated his back Tuesday at Richfield while getting out of his car, caused by stepping on an injured -ankle. He was taken to Cedar City for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Higgins and family left last Saturday for Salt Lake City, intending to spend a few days there, the former on business. They returned home Wednesday and report a very enjoyable trip. Mayor and Mrs. H. T. Atkin have received word by telegram that their daughter. Mrs. Luella McAllister underwent un-derwent an operation at Salt Lake City Monday for apppendicitis. She is reported to be doing nicely. Joseph Hafen of Enterprise was brought to the local hospital last night and operated on at once for a ruptured appendix. The appendix ruptured several days ago and had caused gangerine of the bowels.
