Ten Hints for Motorist Who Polishes His Auto In the Motor Coach Work, the official offi-cial publication of the New York Motor Mo-tor Coach Manufacturers' association, appeared these ten hints for motorists motor-ists who use polish on automobile bodies : If you must use polish, do not apply ap-ply it before the varnish on your car is at least three or four months old, which will by that time be well hardened. Select a polish that does not leave an oily film after It has been wiped off. Use It sparingly, and above all do not use any oily polish that Is shot out of a squirt-gun. Do not apply polish on more than one or two panels at a time. Rub off Immediately and pay particular par-ticular attention to remove all polish out of corners. Rub in" straight strokes (never In a circular motion). Do not polish car outdoors, especially especial-ly when exposed to the sun and do not polish the hood when hot. Keep polish off the nickel-plate parts, as it will cause them to rust. Do not polish car unless all mud and dirt has been removed by water. Above all, do not polish very often. The less the better. |
