Show Local News Items Mrs. O. L. Terry of Gridley, Cal., came in" Wednesday to visit her sister sis-ter and brother, Mrs. Philena PiPckett 1 and Isaac Hunt. A surprise party ivas had for Miss Anna Brooks on Monday evening. The occasion was. her birthday. Coming, "The Big Parade," King Vidor's world war masterpiece, starring star-ring John Gilbert. Star Theatre, Hurricane., Hur-ricane., May 11, 12, 14. Adv. 2t Jos. McArthur spent the week end at Salt Lake City on business in connection with the Dixie College year book. Mrs. Will Pulsipher of Mesquite, Nevada, Ne-vada, had her tonsils removed at the local hospital this morning. Her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Granger, is here with her. Samuel I. Silverman of New York City came in Tuesday on business. He left the same day for the Silver Reef district. Mrs. L. I. Higbee of Toquerville came in Wednesday because of the serious illness of her son, Edwin R. Higbee who has had pneumonia since Monday. He is a little better this morning. Willard Iverson and daughter, Miss Nellie, came in Tuesday night from Mt. Trumbull. Miss Nellie . has been very ill and will remain here for several days. Lorenzo Parker, who has been principal prin-cipal of the Hurricane school the past year, was in St. George Wednesday. He will leave immediately for Driggs, Idaho, Ida-ho, where he will be principal of the school next term. Mrs. Glenn Heaton has returned to her home at Cedar City after spending spend-ing several weeks here. She was accompanied ac-companied by her sister, Miss Viola Bunting who will spend a month there. |
