Mrs. Frank Jackson of Toquerville underwent an operation at the local hospital Tuesday. She is doing nicely. Her daughter Miss Loa is here with her. Ernest Lee of Colorado was here visiting .his father, Joseph Lee, Monday. Mon-day. He is visiting relatives at Hurri- cane now but intends returning here later. Mahonri Snow and Mrs. Ada Schmutz returned Sunday from Salt Lake City, where they attended the I funeral of Frank Snow, who died there last Friday. A truck load of people from Mount Trumbull, Ariz., passed through here this morning en route to Mesa. Ariz- i ona, to attend the dedication cf the ! temple there. ! Ben Lang and son Ralph of Los Angeles, Cal., were visiting relatives i here the fore part of the week. They were guests of Mr. Lang's sister, Mrs. Jane Marlow. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wanke left Saturday for Hawaii, where they will make their home for the present. They have been visiting relatives here for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Keate went to Modena Sunday and met their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ross Keate and son of Oakland, Cal., who will spent several sev-eral days here visiting. About thirty of our local nimrods have gone deer hunting, and the New7s is glad to note that all of them that he has seen are wearing red caps. Deer are reported to be very plentiful. Mrs. Ethel Stewart and daughter, Berneice of Los Angeles, Calif., were guests of Mrs. E. R. Higbee and family fam-ily last week en route home from Toquerville where they have been visiting. visit-ing. Word has been received here that a farewell dance will be given at Mes-quite, Mes-quite, Nev., Friday night in honor of Jeremy Leavitt, who is leaving for a six months mission to the Southern States. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gail were visiting visit-ing here Thursday and Friday of last week before leaving for their home at Elko, Nev. They have been visiting at Enterprise and other towns in the county. The News last week stated that D. Clark Watson had had all his lower teeth extracted. This was an error, which we regret. It was a very badly infected tooth for which Mr. Watson was treated. Mrs. B. P. Wulfensten and son Jim spent the latter part of last week visiting visit-ing at St. Thomas, Nev. Mrs. Marvel Connell and family accompanied them home and spent the fore part of this week here visiting. Mrs. Emma Ashby and son Nat returned re-turned Wednesday from Salt Lake City, where they attended the funeral of Frank Snow. Mrs. Frank Snow and children came down with them and will spend some time here visiting. Mrs. Amos M. Hunt was here Wednesday Wed-nesday on her way home to Gunlock from Overton, Nevada, where she had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Robert Rob-ert A. Waymire, who had a daughter born to her on Oct. 14; all concerned doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Schmutz and members of their family, also Mr. Schmutz' brother, Gottlieb of New Harmony left Tuesday to take in the opening of the L. D. S. temple at Mesa, Arizona. The dedication exercises exer-cises will take place next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. N. Smith and Mrs. Winnie Hickman left Saturday for their respective homes at Salt Lake City and Ogden after spending about a week visiting relatives here and with their mother, Mrs. Mary Whitehead, who is under the doctor's care at Cedar Ced-ar City. Born, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Ben' Cameron of Panguitch, in this city. October 2. Mrs. Cameron was formerly former-ly Miss Effie Cannon of this city.
