Show Good Plumbing Saves Money in Any House Good plumbing will save the owner much money in years to come. It is far better to award the plumbing contract to a firm with an established estab-lished reputation, one you know will do the work with the proper materials, ma-terials, than to try and save a few dollars on the cheaper bid from an nntrusted firm. If the houses are built to sell, the builder generally does not suffer any cash loss. When the plumbing begins be-gins to wear out in a few years, however, how-ever, the damage to his reputation is far more than the money saved on cheap workmanship and materials. The same Is true of a building built to rent. If a landlord builds cheap plumbing into a house or apartment, he will suffer from the complaints of the tenants. These complaints require constant attention, and if the work Is too bad there will be a financial loss resulting from the building standing idle a good part of the year. Incessant repairs, ripping Into the walls, even actual replacement of fixtures, fix-tures, eat into the profits. Janitors are constantly being "hounded" to fix some small defect In faucet or drain. And all these troubles might have been avoided, and much money, time and annoyance saved by installing reliable re-liable fixtures In the first place. Hardly anything can cause greater disturbance to the smooth running of a household than defective 6xtures and fittings. And, on the other hand, nothing can contribute more to the lasting value of a building and the satisfaction and peace of mind of its owners and tenants than plumbing that is modern and reliable. |
