Show (UTAH PARKS ROADS ! TO BE IMPROVED Large sums of money will be spent for further improvements and highway construction in south-era south-era Utah and at the north rim of the Grand canyon next year. At a meeting of the bureau of public roads and government parks representatives in San Francisco Fran-cisco recently it was announced' that a part of the improvement program calls for the expenditure of $55,000 for oil surface and new entrance roads into the north rim of the Grand canyon. About 9 miles of the road has been under construction during the season and will be completed October 1. The last link connecting Jacob's Ja-cob's lake in the Kaibab forest to the north boundary of Grand canyon can-yon will be graded next year at a cost of $45,000. Funds for maintenance mainte-nance and surfacing of the Kaibab Kai-bab forest highway also has been allocated. The Arizona state highway high-way commission is expected to put up $200,000 for construction of a highway between Jacob's lake and Lee's Ferry bridge. |
