Show DATES SET FOR RODENT CONTROL INSTRUCTIONS County and State Cooperating Cooperat-ing in Distribution of Poisoned Poi-soned Carrot, Rolled Oats and Wheat Bait to Farmers Instructions and demonstra tions of the proper methods of poisoning pocket gophers, ground squirrels, field mice, and other forms of destructive rodent life, will be given at a series of meetings next week through the cooperation of the state department depart-ment of agriculture and Washington Wash-ington county. Arrangements have been made for the distribution of carrot bait free of charge. However, it will be given only to those who attend the demonstrations. Where small amounts are made up for single individuals- it will be necessary nec-essary for the farmers to furnish their own carrots and purchase the strychnine. John A. Blaz-zard, Blaz-zard, district crop inspector, will be present and assist with the demonstrations as well as a representative rep-resentative of the United States biological survey. Farmers who come to the demonstrations are asked to bring a container for taking away the poison bait. The carrots car-rots should be put out within a few hours after being prepared, pre-pared, as it is much more attractive at-tractive to rodents, and more effective when fresh. Poisoned steamed rolled oats for ground squirrel eradication and poisoned poison-ed wheat for field mice and sparrows will be prepared and given away. It is the plan of the county agent to follow up the eradication eradica-tion work in February. For sections sec-tions that are infested with jack-rabbits, jack-rabbits, a schedule will be worked work-ed out at the meetings and plans made for their control.
