Show MARRIAGE RATE DROPS IN YEAR The effects of the depression are shown in the number of marriage licenses issued by the Washington county clerk's office during 1932, the number having dropped from 125 in 1931 to 112 in 1932. However, in 1930, the number was only, 73, which is average. The reason for the big gain in the past two years is probably prob-ably accounted for by the fact that many couples from California Califor-nia come here to evade the three day notice of intention to wed law of that state. |
