Show LOCAL AUXILIARY MEMBERS PROMISE TO MAKE JELLY ANT JAM FOR NEEDY There will be delicious, homemade home-made jams and Jellies for the needy in St. George, Utah, when fall and winter come again. This was assured today when members of local unit No. 90 of the American Legion Auxiliary pledged their support to a unique uni-que nation-wide Jelly making campaign, sponsored by this organization. or-ganization. Mrs. Eleanor S. Smith president of unit No. 90, signed the formal pledge which asserts that the members of her group will make at least 100 glasses of Jellies and Jams by October 1st. All of the half, million members mem-bers of the Auxiiary are being lined up in this interesting welfare wel-fare project the largest Jelly-making Jelly-making "bee" In history, lt is believed. The goal of the national na-tional organization Is 1,000,000 glasses. "If we can make more than our quota of 100 glasses, we certainly will," Mrs. (Smith said. "The finished jellies and that tnAi,iaa 4nm conserves, and everything else along this line will be distributed among those who are in need of wholesome, nourishing foods." The Jelly project is sponsored by the National Rehabilitation Committee working with the Child Welfare and Community Service Committees. |
