Show CIVIC CLUBS TO MEET IN PA NGUITCH JUNE 29 and 30 C. W. Love, Jr., Washington County director of the Associated Civic clubs, reports that the next meeting of this organization will be held in Panguitch on Saturday and Sunday, June 29th and 30th. According to Mr. Love, the Lions club of that city will arrange ar-range for the entertainment features. fea-tures. The business sessions will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the Lions Club hall. The banquet is scheduled sched-uled to start promptly at 7:30 and the dance at 9:30, declares Mr. Love. 'tThe Panguitch people have been looking forward to this meeting meet-ing for several months," states Harry Carr, secretary of the club. (They asked for it in March) "and have planned for a large attendance and entertainment deluxe de-luxe for all. Visits to Bryce Canyon Can-yon and Panguitch Lake will likely lik-ely be on the program Sunday. "President Frank G. Martines requests that members give consideration con-sideration before the meeting to the new liquor law that gives state control to beer retailers in cities and counties. There has been a great deal of discussion on this. Many feel that cities and counties should be permitted to issue licenses li-censes for the sale of light beer as they see fit. "Qfur organization has never taken a stand on anything pertaining per-taining to liquor but this question ques-tion is more a matter of rights for divisions of the government other than the state. The thing to consider is whether we should take a stand and if wo, what." |
