H. C. THOMAS MAKES FINE GIFT TO BAND H. C. Thomas, manager of the local Penney store, has given the Dixie Junior college band a donation dona-tion of $100, is the report given the News office by Earl J. Bleak, instructor and leader of this band. According to Mr. Bleak there were no strings attached to this gift of Mr. Thomas', so it i's the plan of this organization, to place the money in a fund to go toward to-ward the purchasing of a Bassoon and a string base violin. It is Mr. Bleak's opinion that these two instruments in-struments will do the most good iii rounding out the instruments of the orchestra of anything that could be purchased for this amount of money.
