Show SPRINGDALE Springdale, Oct. 14. Mr. Mayo, the U. P. R. R. engineer is in Zion park, making ready to commence work on the new buildings there some time "this month. Several truck loads of timber have arrived recently, which will be used in the buildings, in addition to the 226 thousand feet already in the park. The camp in Zion park will close as usual, on the 15th inst. The number of tourists visiting in Zion for the season ending September 30, was 8,400, 2,000 more than visited last season. Some 14 of our town's people attended at-tended conference and the state fair held in Salt Lake City recently. They report having a splendid time, although tne conierence was iuu crowded to enjoy one's self in the tabernacle. A light frost killed most of the tender vines on the night of the 11th. Some nice beneficial showers were had on the 6 and 7 insts. Dr. A. A. Kerr of the' University of Utah is spending a few days' visiting in Zion National park, and friends in Springdale. Leland Russell will leave on the 15 inst, for Salt Lake City, where he will attend school. Ines Gifford daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Gifford, is working in Salt Lake City |
