Show Survey Being Made For New Federal Postoffice Building The first steps toward the construction con-struction of a new Post Office building at St. George, Utah are being made by H. C. Skilling, Treasury Department engineer, who has been ordered to make a topographical survey and soil investigation of the proposed site on the South west corner of Tabernacle Tab-ernacle Street and First East Street. The plans will be prepared by architects in Washington, D. C, from information furnished by this survey. Mr. Skilling is interested in the source of supply of building build-ing material available in this locality, lo-cality, such as rock and sand for concrete. The specification writers writ-ers will be advised of the possibility possi-bility of the use of natural build ing iiune lu ai leasi, a pai l ui tne building. Mr. Skilling is making bis headquarters head-quarters until December 13th at the Post Office while in St. George. He could not say when construction construc-tion would start but states that the ultimate objective of relieving reliev-ing unemployment in this community com-munity will be achieved as quickly quick-ly as possible. |
