Show First Art Exhibit j At Dixie College j Creates Interest f The first annual art exhibit which is being sponp.ored by the ! Beaux Art Guild of rhe Dixie Junior Jun-ior college will culminate in the Beaux Art Ball to be held in the College gymnasium tomorrow night, December 6. Picture have been on display at the college since November 2 2. In connection with the ball, the guild will announce the picturt that has been chosen by the students stu-dents and purchased by the" Beaux Art guild. Complete secrecy is being maintained as to which picture pic-ture has been selected and it is the plan of the group to unveil the picture at the ball. The exhibition, on display since November 22, has included water paintings and pencil sketches by leading artists of Utah, Nevada and Idaho. Those who have seen the work declare that the Beaux Art guild has made a fine contribution con-tribution to the art education of Dixie college and Washington county. It had been planned to have the dedication of the Ivins memorial on December 6, but due to the fact that several prominent 'men of Utah have expressed a desire to be present and stated that they would be unable to attend at this time, the committee decided to complete the memorial with the exception of the plaque but to hold up the dedicatory exercises until a more auspicious time. |
