Show PINE VALLEY Pine Valley, July 31. (Too late for last week). On Sunday, July 22, ward conference was held here. President Jos. K. Nicholes was in attendance and uie lonowmg counselors to Bishop Jeter Snow were sustained, E. S. Gardner Gard-ner first and Levi Snow second. Bishop E. R. Frei and Harmon Hafen were visitors at the meeting and we enjoyed en-joyed their remarks very much. The twenty-fourth was fittingly celebrated cele-brated here. The following program was given in the morning: stump speech by Bishop Jeter Snow, duet, Erma and Mary Nelson, reading, Mrs. Rena Rencher, talk, Glenn Snow, solo, Bessie Snow, and reading, Erma Nelson. Nel-son. There were sports in the afternoon after-noon and a dance at night. Word has been received here of the following births: A daughter Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Jensen July 6 at Provo; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Myron Stout, July 20, at Cedar City, and a son to Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Gardner July 24 at St. George. Mr and Mrs. Gerald Seegmiller and Mr. and Mrs Gordon Bentley and family fam-ily spent Sunday here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Snow. Mrs. Philena Pickett of St. George visited here with her daughter, Mrs. Orson Hall. Mi-, and Mrs. Ruben Gardner left last week for Cedar City to visit their children there. From there Mr. Gardner Gard-ner intends to go to Delta to visit H. O. Gardner who has been ill for some time. About 32 of the young people from here went to Veyo Saturday evening to swim. The folowing people have been here from St. George to enjoy the cool weather: President and Mrs. Jos. K. Nicholes and family, Ellis Pickett, Mr. and Mrs. David Woodbury, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Snow, Mrs. Olive Reeve, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pickett and family, fam-ily, and Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Mitchell. From Santa Clara: Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hafen, Mr. and Mrs. Clawson Frei. E. S. Gardner and family, Effie Gardner Gard-ner and Eva Crosby went to St. George Sunday. Erma Nelson of St. George accompanied them home. Miss Florence Moench of Logan is here voting, the guest of Virginia Snow. Ii. J Burgess who has been quite sick recently is much improvec. |
