Show WASHINGTON -li(l and Highly Respected Citizen Has Finished Her Labors Here Washington, Apr. 13. Mrs. Eliza-( Eliza-( beth Hoffer departed this life Wednesday Wed-nesday April 7th, the cause of death being old age. Sister Hoffer was j born in Kappell, St. Gallen, Switzerland, Switzer-land, Nov. 11, 1S43. She became a convert of the L. D. S. church in j Switzerland and gave up relatives ; and friends for the gospel's sake, to ; which she remained faithful and true ! until her death. She is survived by ! two sons and one daughter, thirteen grand children and a number of ! great-grandchildren. Funeral services serv-ices were held in the Ward Chapel Thursday, April S, conducted by First Counselor John Tanner. Singing was furnished by the ward choir under the direction of Brother Frank Staheli.' The speakers were Elders Oliver Belnap, William Tobler and John Tanner; all paying tribute to the worthy life of the departed. Mrs. Mishie Rieler anrl rlanrbtor Roween left Tuesday for their home at Nephi after spending the past month here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Israel Neilson, Sr. Jacob Sturzenegger, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffer, arrived here Thursday Thurs-day from Spring Grove, Nevada. He is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Zahner. An excellent program was given in Sacrament meeting by members of the different priesthood quorums. Joseph Judd spent Sunday here with his family, from Iron Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hall have gone to CedarCity on business. |
